Title. Preamble.

1. Governor’s Bay Road to be closed up.

2. There shall be a public highway in accordance with the line marked out in

Maps of Chief Surveyor.

3. This Ordinance to be a Special Ordinance in connection with the Diversion of

Roads Ordinance.

Notes.

This Ordinance was passed by the Canterbury Provincial Council on 26th June

1857, and assented to by the Superintendent on 30th June. It was disallowed by the Governor, for the reasons in the Proclamation 26th January, 1858, quoted above.

The full text of this Ordinance was not included in the Volume of Ordinances published by Charles Lucas, the Official Printer of the Canterbury Provincial Government.
