This Ordinance was passed by the Canterbury Provincial Council on 20th December 1859, an assented to by the Superintendent on 23rd December. The Ordinance was inoperative because there was no Schedule attached to it, and was repealed by “The Trespass of Cattle Ordinance, Session XIV., No. 1, 1860. The full text of this Ordinance was not included in the Volume of Ordinances published by Charles Lucas, the Official Printer of the Canterbury Provincial Government.
