Maraeroa A and B Blocks Incorporation Bill

6 March 2012 ATTORNEY-GENERAL

Maraeroa A and B Blocks Incorporation Bill (PCO 15688 version 2.1): Consistency with the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990

Our Ref: ATT395/161

  1. I have considered the above private Bill for consistency with the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990 (“the Bill of Rights Act”). The Bill establishes the trustees of the Maraeroa A and B Blocks as a Maori incorporation; identifies its governance arrangements and powers; and applies to it specific provisions of Te Ture Whenua Maori Act 1993.
  2. I advise that the Bill is consistent with the Bill of Rights Act.
  3. This advice has been reviewed, in accordance with Crown Law protocol, by Ian Carter, Crown Counsel.

Yours faithfully

Lisa Fong Crown Counsel
