Statutes Amendment Bill 2018: Consistency with New Zealand Bill of Rights Act
1990 Our Ref: ATT395/284
- I
have reviewed the following draft amendments to be included in the proposed
Statutes Amendment Bill (PCO 20409 SAB 2018, version
4.0) for consistency with
the New Zealand Bill of Rights Act 1990. A copy of the Bill is enclosed with
this advice. The Ministry
of Justice and Crown Law agreed Crown Law should
provide vetting advice on the entirety of the Bill.

have concluded that no issue of inconsistency with the New Zealand Bill of
Rights Act 1990 arises in respect of the proposed amendments.

accordance with Crown Law practice this advice has been peer reviewed by Senior
Crown Counsel Paul Rishworth QC.
