sill: By-laws may be made for a variety of purposes listed.
Commentary: This Act recognises the importance of timber resources for New Zealand's economy (ie railways, housing) and for natural conservation reasons. It seeks to preserve existing native forests, to plant new forests, and to establish a system of forest management and control.
