HUMAN TISSUE ACT 2008 - SECT 97
Existing holdings of human tissue
1 This section applies to human tissue that, immediately before the repeal of
the Human Tissue Act 1964 , had been collected, or was being used (
"existing holdings" ).
2 Collection, use, exportation, and importation of
existing holdings must comply with all relevant requirements and quality,
safety, and other standards prescribed or approved by regulations under
section 74 or 75 .
3 However, no other requirements in this Act apply to
existing holdings, and the Human Tissue Act 1964 continues to apply to
existing holdings as if that Act had not been repealed.
4 To avoid doubt
"requirements" , in subsection (3), includes requirements that are, or are
part of, offences or prohibitions.
