LEGISLATION ACT 2019 - SECT 2
Commencement
1 This Act comes into force as follows: a) section 147 (which contains
regulation-making powers) comes into force on the day after the date of Royal
assent:
aa) the following provisions (which contain regulation-making powers)
come into force on the day after the date on which the
Secondary Legislation Act 2021 receives the Royal assent: i) clause 19 of
Schedule 1 and section 6 (but only for the purpose of giving effect to clause
19):
ii) section 147A :
b) the rest of this Act comes into force— i) on 1
or more dates set by Order in Council; or
ii) to the extent not brought into
force earlier, on the fifth anniversary of the date on which the
Secondary Legislation Act 2021 receives the Royal assent.
2 One or more
Orders in Council may set different dates for different provisions (and, for
that purpose, may commence a provision only for the purpose of giving effect
to some, but not other, parts of this Act).
3 An Order in Council made under
this section is secondary legislation (see Part 3 for publication
requirements).
History: Section 2(1)(aa): inserted, on 25 March 2021, by
section 4(2) of the Secondary Legislation Act 2021 (2021 No 7).
Section 2(1)(b)(i): the rest of this Act (except Part 4, section 148,
and provisions already in force) brought into force, on 28 October 2021, by
clause 2 of the Legislation Act 2019 Commencement Order 2021 (LI
2021/249). Section 2(1)(b)(ii): amended, on
25 March 2021, by section 4(2) of the Secondary Legislation Act 2021 (2021
No 7). Section 2(3): inserted, on 28 October 2021,
by regulation 103 of the Legislation Act (Amendments to Legislation)
Regulations 2021 (LI 2021/247).
