VICTIMS' RIGHTS ACT 2002 - SECT 51B
Secretary to prepare code
51B Secretary to prepare code
1 As soon as practicable after the
commencement of this section, the Secretary must prepare a code.
2 The
purpose of the code is to make available to victims information that is
consistent with this Act and any other Act about— a) the rights of victims;
and
b) the services available to victims from government agencies and other
organisations; and
c) the duties and responsibilities of government agencies
when dealing with victims.
3 In preparing the code, the Secretary— a) must
consult the government agencies that provide services to victims; and
b) may
consult any persons or representatives of persons as the Secretary considers
appropriate.
