Introduction

IN THIS REPORT the Law Commission discusses nine current trust law problems and makes recommendations thereon. The report was preceded by a discussion paper, Some Problems in the Law of Trusts (NZLC PP48). The Commission was assisted at various stages of the project by KR Ayers, Helmore Ayers, Solicitors, Christchurch; Professor JK Maxton, School of Law, University of Auckland; and WM Patterson, Minter, Ellison, Rudd, Watts, Lawyers, Auckland, and is grateful for their help to these three people and to the individuals and groups listed in appendix A who made submissions on the discussion paper.
